Abstract: Ledgers, day books, and other types of financial account books that are unrelated to other collections in the Southern Historical Collection. Some include other kinds of personal and business records in addition to financial accounts. Note that items are cataloged separately.

Collection Highlights: Unit 23 of this collection is an account book written by William Augustin Perry, the treasurer of the black parish of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Tarboro, North Carolina (1910-1931). (See The account book contains information on money collected at services and disbursement made. There are also two letters of a social nature which were inserted in the volume (1835-1836). (See Volume V-4049/23).
