Abstract: Family papers, particularly histories and genealogical materials, from many places in the South. Represented are the following families: Branscome, Burnett, Chorpening, Conyers, Cosby, Cox, Craig, Dalton, Darden, Ervin, Gorham, Hylton, Jarrott, McNeill, Mitchell, Preston, Ragland, Robertson, Schuster, Slaughter, Suggs, and many others. Of special interest is the biography of University of North Carolina alumnus and Confederate Army officer Julius Caesar Mitchell (1842-1876).
