8 May 1861: Edmund Walter Jones letter “delighted with my life as a soldier”

Item description: This letter from J.T. Jones to his father Edmund W. Jones (written while J.T. was encamped at Ellis Camp, Raleigh, N.C.), describes mobilization efforts on the home front in Orange County, North Carolina, as well as the early experiences of a Confederate infantry member.
