  1. I have seen another version of this picture and the old gentleman in Outdoorlife magazine probably 40 years ago I think he was one of the Plott family his name might be Von Plott

  2. The man in the picture is Henry Von Plott. The dogs names are Scott, Fleet & Blue Joe. Mr. Plott lived at Waynesville, N.C. & is buried there. He had a son named John Plott who was an officer in the U.S. Army & for a time continued breeding Von’s strain of Plott hounds. I was a teenager in the 1960’s & my brother George & a friend, Algie Denham & I visited Mr. Plott several times as well as Mr. Taylor Crockett, who had another strain of Boar & Bear Plotts. Hope this helps.

  3. The man on photo with dogs is roy duncan of lake waccamaw, my grandfather. Used to run the duncan place by the old council building and boat club. Sally duncan was wife.
