  1. I have seen another version of this picture and the old gentleman in Outdoorlife magazine probably 40 years ago I think he was one of the Plott family his name might be Von Plott

  2. The man in the picture is Henry Von Plott. The dogs names are Scott, Fleet & Blue Joe. Mr. Plott lived at Waynesville, N.C. & is buried there. He had a son named John Plott who was an officer in the U.S. Army & for a time continued breeding Von’s strain of Plott hounds. I was a teenager in the 1960′s & my brother George & a friend, Algie Denham & I visited Mr. Plott several times as well as Mr. Taylor Crockett, who had another strain of Boar & Bear Plotts.
