Rebecca Kemp, e-resources acquisitions librarian, is the recipient of the 2010 First Step Award-A Wiley Professional Development Grant, from the Association of Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS).

The award will be presented on June 27, 2010, at the ALCTS Awards Ceremony during the 2010 American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.

The $1,500 grant, sponsored by publisher John Wiley & Sons, offers librarians new to the serials field the opportunity to attend an ALA annual conference and participate in ALCTS Continuing Resources Section activities.

In her application, Kemp expressed a desire to participate in connecting with stakeholders in the serials information chain and to provide continuing education for herself and others.

Kemp joined the UNC Library Nov. 1, 2009, after working as serials coordinator librarian at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
