The Library welcomes two new colleagues:
John Blythe became Special Projects and Outreach Coordinator for the North Carolina Collection, effective June 1, 2010.
In this position, Blythe will develop and expand North Caroliniana reference resources, prepare and edit publications, and contribute to digital projects involving materials from the collection. He will also help to plan and direct public programs and outreach activities and deliver presentations to on-campus and statewide audiences.
Since January, Blythe has served as Project Librarian for the North Carolina Maps project based at the UNC Library. He has also been a Carolina Digital Curation Fellow and Audio Technician at the Library. Before becoming a librarian, Blythe had a seventeen-year career as a reporter, editor, and radio producer.
Blythe, a native of Chapel Hill, holds an M.S. in Information and Library Science and a B.A. in American Studies from UNC. He also holds a Certificate in Film from New York University.

Maggie Dickson became Digital Projects Librarian for the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center, effective June 1, 2010.
In this position, Dickson will manage operations and publications for the center, which provides digitization and hosting services for cultural heritage institutions across North Carolina. Dickson will develop and implement new projects with partner institutions and will be responsible for day-to-day digitization and publication. She will also hire, train, and supervise assistants, and will provide guidance in assessment, planning, and training.
Dickson was most recently the Beaux Arts to Modernism Digital Project Librarian at the North Carolina State University Library in Raleigh. She was previously the Watson-Brown Project Librarian for the Carolina Digital Library and Archives at UNC.
Dickson holds an M.L.S. and a B.A. in Art History from UNC.
