On June 16, 2010, the UNC Library will change its process for verifying that remote users of online resources are affiliated with the University. This will apply to the use of the Library’s e-journals and databases when used from off-campus. Beginning June 16, affiliation information will be drawn from the University’s central databases.
Library technical staff expect this to be a behind-the-scenes transition that should be transparent in nearly all cases.
In some instances, however, an authorized UNC user may receive the following error message denying access:
If you encounter this message, please contact the administrative staff in your academic department so that your affiliation can be properly updated in the University’s records.
