Free and open to the public

The staff of the Library’s Preservation Department invites you to make your own book.
On the afternoon of April 27, room 214 Davis Library will become a makeshift bindery. Students, faculty, staff, and visitors will be able to sew—and keep—a small pamphlet with a decorative cover. The sewing process will only take about ten minutes.
Visitors will also be able to see examples of preservation work including book repairs, binding samples, disaster response materials, and digital reproduction.
The event is in honor of national Preservation Week, sponsored by the Association for Library Collections and Technical Services.
