UPDATE: $754 raised for Habitat! Thank you, everyone, for your support.

Treat yourself to baked goods, and do some good! The Carolina Library Community will hold a bake sale to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Orange County on Sept. 20 in front of Davis Library (or under the awnings in case of rain).

The sale will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 2 p.m., or until the last goody is sold. Everything will be priced at $1.

The sale is a fundraiser for the UNC Build a Block project. As Build a Block champions, the University Libraries and the School of Information and Library Science (SILS) have committed to raising $35,000 and providing 2,000 hours of labor toward the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes for UNC employees.

You can also donate to the Library Community Build a Block effort in one of the following ways:

  • Credit Card: Go to the Build a Block web page and select the “Donate” link . Select Carolina Library Community under “My gift supports a Habitat Champion!”
  • Check: Make payable to “Habitat for Humanity of Orange County” (NOT to UNC, the Library, or SILS), and write “Carolina Library Community” on the memo line. Deliver checks to the SILS Administrative Office at Manning Hall or the Library Administration Office in Davis Library.

For questions about the sale, the Carolina Library Community’s Build a Block effort, or to donate baked goods, contact Alison Murray in Wilson Library (ammurray@email.unc.edu , 919-962-1172).
