Appointment: Middle Eastern Cataloger


Middle Eastern Cataloger Denise Soufi

The University Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Denise Soufi as Middle Eastern Cataloger, effective November 1.

Denise will perform original and complex adaptive cataloging of Arabic- and Persian-language materials in all formats, including serials and online. She will also handle Arabic-script materials and Francophone North African language materials, and will manage special cataloging projects.

Prior to this appointment, Denise served as the Islamic manuscript cataloger in the Department of Rare Books and Special Collections at Princeton University. She has also worked as a freelance copy editor.

Denise holds an M.L.I.S. from Rutgers in New Brunswick, N.J., an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Near Eastern studies from Princeton University, and a B.A. in physics from Cornell University.
