On Feb. 22, Duncan Wu, professor of English at Georgetown University, will deliver a lecture about William Wordsworth’s “Thanksgiving Ode,” composed to commemorate Napoleon’s defeat at the Battle of Waterloo.
The lecture honors Mark L. Reed, Lineberger Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Humanities at UNC, and his gifts to UNC’s Rare Book Collection. It also celebrates the new Rare Book Collection exhibition, Lyric Impressions: Wordsworth in the Long Nineteenth Century, on view in Wilson Library through April 15.
