NEW: The exhibition From Frock Coats to Flip-flops: 100 Years of Fashion at Carolina has been held over until June 14!
As students in the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s, they arrived at Carolina toting wool sweaters and blazers. On Franklin Street, they acquired tassel loafers, groovy jumpsuits, and Earth shoes.
Decades later, when Wilson Library called, these Tar Heels unpacked the boxes, brushed off the mothballs, and shared their keepsakes for the exhibition From Frock Coats to Flip-flops: 100 Years of Fashion at Carolina.
Six former UNC students came to Wilson Library to reminisce and tell stories about their contributions to the exhibition. We’ll share fresh videos here through June 3.
Intrigued? The real items–along with photographs, news stories, ads, and articles– are on view in the North Carolina Collection Gallery on the main floor of Wilson Library through
June 5 June 14.
