It’s Grits! Film Screening with Director Stan Woodward Jan. 19

Filmmaker Stan Woodward will present his documentary classic It’s Grits! on Jan. 19 in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room of the Wilson Special Collections Library at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A discussion with Woodward will follow a screening of the film. Continue reading

Special Showings of Gridiron Glory for UNC Community, Nov. 19

The Wilson Special Collections Library will offer the UNC campus community two lunchtime showings of Gridiron Glory on Friday, November 19, at noon and 12:30 p.m., in the Pleasants Family Assembly Room. Gridiron Glory features archival film footage of Tar Heel football games past. Continue reading

Tribute to Author Tim McLaurin, Nov. 7 at Fearrington Village

North Carolina author Tim McLaurin will be remembered with a symposium, film screening and music on Nov. 7, 2010, at 3 p.m., at The Barn at Fearrington Village in Pittsboro, N.C. Writers Clyde Edgerton, Lee Smith, Hal Crowther, and Jill McCorkle will be among those paying homage to McLaurin. The free public event is sponsored by UNC Friends of the Library, the North Carolina State University Department of English, and McIntyre’s Books at Fearrington Village. Continue reading
