Presentation at CREW Workshop

Erin O’Meara was fortunate enough to be a case study speaker for the AIMS Collecting Repositories and E-Records Workshop (CREW). The workshop consisted of several sections that covered the functional areas of archives:

  • collection development
  • accessioning
  • arrangement and description
  • discovery and access

For more information, a link to the workshop program is on the AIMS wikispace. The focus on gaining administrative, intellectual and physical control over the digital objects during the accessioning phase was very useful. Archivists can sometimes forget about fundamental concepts when trying to handle new types of media and new technology.

At the workshop, Erin presented on access and discovery to hybrid collections (collections containing both paper and born-digital content). Here are the slides.
