CDR and UNC Press to Publish Open Access Book Series

In partnership with the Institute for the Study of the Americas, UNC Press and the CDR will provide free, open access to digital editions of the Studies in Latin America series.  Per the ISA, the series “will feature short works, approximately 20,000 to 35,000 words in length.”The first book, Tropical Tongues: Language Ideologies, Endangerment, and Minority Languages in Belize, is available in PDF and EPUB formats in the CDR. Tropical Tongues examines the precarious state of languages in coastal Belize after the country gained independence in 1981.
Additional books in the series will be openly available in the CDR upon publication.
