Item description: The Wilmington Daily Journal of 25 November 1861 had this “Sequestration Notice.” In it, DuBrutz Cutlar, who had been appointed “Receiver for the District composed of the counties of New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, Bladen, Robeson and Richmond,” made notice that any person holding property or goods for “any alien enemy of the Confederate States of America” should alert him of the fact and “place the same in my hands.”
