ORDNANCE OFFICE.
Charleston, Jan 29th 1864 1864
My Dear Friend,
I have just received your letter and in answer have to state that I am unable to fill the the registration referred to by you as soon it reached my office. I at once approved it + sent it forward to the Arsenal to be in its turn filled, but owing to our many pressing wants in + around Charleston since the beginning of this protracted siege, the office commanding the arsenal has been unable to meet the demands made upon him. I will however remind him from time to time of your wants. Please present by respects to Mrs. Hamilton. Why don’t you come down occasionally to see us it is however extremely dull about this once lively city
I am your friend
R. Wadly
