Community Example: Archival Seedling partner Deborah Gray developed an archives care project to process, organize, and manage the papers and materials of Isaac S. Hathaway. Mr. Hathaway was Tuskegee University educator, pioneering sculptor, and the first African American to design a U.S. Mint coin. Deborah’s role as the managing director of the Tuskegee History Center aided her Seedling project to surface and celebrate a prominent figure of Tuskegee and Macon County, Alabama history.
