Remembering Cliffside

Loyal NCM reader Kevin Cherry recently pointed out a website dedicated to the history of Cliffside, North Carolina, a mill village in southeastern Rutherford County. The website, Remember Cliffside, is maintained by the Cliffside Historical Society and contains photos, transcribed letters, maps, historical articles, and other memorabilia of the community.

  1. I have a friend who run across some old artifacts such as Raleigh Rutherford Haynes book published in 1954 that shows alot about Cliffside and Avondale landmarks, the old mills, schools and churches, also his life and achievements, I wondered if you would be interested.

  2. Thank you for your offer. We have this book, in multiple copies, so we’re not interested in this particular copy. BUT our collection is as good as it is because over the years people like you have offered us materials that we’d didn’t have and didn’t know about. Feel free to check back with us when you or a friend find something that you think we might need.
