Science and Ethics, Ancient to Modern

The Rev. Edward MalloyPhillip Mitsis, and Jennifer Whiting address questions such as these. In what ways do ancient Greek philosophers such as Socrates provide models for the study of ethics? How has the philosophy of ethics evolved into the modern world?

At the time of this interview, Rev. Malloy was president of the University of Notre Dame. Mitsis, a Fellow at the National Humanities Center (1987-88), was professor of classics at Cornell University. Whiting was professor of philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh.

This edition of Soundings was conducted by Wayne J. Pond.
