Getting Right with Lincoln

Andrew Delbanco reads from The Portable Lincoln and elaborates not only on the chronology of Abraham Lincoln’s professional life but also addresses his notions of the Republic and the moral issues surrounding slavery that underscored his presidency.

Delbanco was a trustee of the National Humanities Center, where he was also a Fellow (1990-91, 2002-03). At the time of this interview, he was professor of English at Columbia University.
