The speakers are Muriel Bradbrook, Ralph Elliott, and Alfred Hornung.

All of the speakers were Fellows at the National Humanities Center in 1980-81. At the time of this interview, Bradbrook was professor of English at Girton College, Cambridge University. Elliott was professor of English at the Australian National University. Hornung was professor of American studies at the University of Würzburg.
