Law, Community, and Conflict

Gerald Postema approaches the topics of law, community, and political conflict from historical as well as contemporary perspectives. He stresses the relationship between law and community as a response to both collective and individual problems and notes ways in which the law manifests itself in the political arena.

At the time of the interview, Postema, a Fellow at the National Humanities Center (1986-87, 2005-06), was professor of philosophy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

This edition of Soundings was conducted by Wayne J. Pond.
