Showing My Color

“Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and PBS commentator Clarence Page talks about his new book, Showing My Color: Impolite Essays on Race and Identity. Arguing that the U.S.A. is not in an integrated but an assimilationist culture, Clarence Page says that most white Americans live in a state of denial when it comes to the reality of racial discrimination. In response to the demand from various political quarters that  ‘we get past race,’  Page proposes that we must ‘go through to get beyond race.'” [Wayne Pond]
