New in the North Carolina Collection

The North Carolina Collection is regularly adding new materials to its holdings, continuing to expand what is already the country’s largest collection of printed materials on a single state. The library’s catalog lists all our new materials, but, periodically, we’ll list a healthy selection of titles on this page. The full citations for these materials will be in the UNC Library’s online catalog, while the books themselves will be available for use in the North Carolina Collection. If you don’t see a title that you expect, please email: wilsonlibrary@unc.edu.

Please provide me details about Martha Gellhorn’s FEMA activities in North Carolina. More specifically, which textile towns was she referring to in her investigations of thextile industry in NC. Thank you.

  2. I’m looking for a ghost story that happened at Mt Pleasant United Methodist Church in Clemmons nc. When I goggled it this blog came up and said Folktales and Ghost stories of North Carolina. The date that came up was feb 2006 but when I clicked on it it went to 2015.
The story was something about someone fighting the devil in the church and scorch marks were left on the church from the devil losing. It was a very long time ago. Anything you can do to help me narrow this search down would be wonderful.
    Thank you

  3. Hi Antonio,
The Bensen Aircraft Corporation closed its operations in the late 1980s. At this point, I suspect your best way to contact individuals with a rich knowledge of Bensen Aircraft is to contact enthusiasts, like those who run the Bensen Days Event in Florida: http://bensendays.us.com/index.shtml

    Good luck!

    North Carolina Collection

  4. Just noticed this small typo from Nov.2018 (“23 Reasons why” rather than “23 Reasons by”):
